- Bezos’s $250m acquisition of the Washington Post brought to an end 80 years of ownership by the Graham family
- Amazon Prime members are being offered a free six month trial of the digital edition of the Washington Post and a discount on future subscriptions
- It also adds another element to the $99-a-year Amazon Prime membership scheme, which started out as a next day delivery service but has expanded to include TV and music streaming, cloud storage and ebooks.
Amazon have made another big move when it comes to taking over the media with Amazon buying out the Washington Post for $250 million dollars last week and they have included this into their 6 month free trial for Amazon Prime.
I believe that this is a way to make Amazon Prime more than just a network streaming service they are trying to become a brand with getting next day delivery, streaming and now newspapers Amazon Prime has become an overall experience not just a streaming website.

- With the launch of the new Apple TV, Apple has positioned its set-top box as the heir to the Nintendo Wii, bringing accessible casual gaming into the living room with the device’s app store and motion-sensitive remote control.
- the maximum size of an Apple TV app is limited to 200MB”, with no persistent local storage. In other words, apps must be lean, and they must download everything they show from the cloud.
- And unlike the old consoles, there’s no need to ask permission before making a game for the Apple TV, and the company is still much less controlling over what makes it on the App Store than any of the legacy publishers.
With Apple TV trying to new get into the Gaming Console business with Apple planning to expand the usage of the Apple TV to be able to compete with the Nintendo Wii when it comes to gaming and becoming a family entertainment pack for friends and family.
However if the Nintendo Wii has been around for since December 2006 and as a result is out dated by the Nintendo Wii U as well so via Apple Competing with a console that is outdated it's not helpful for them to compete with that console and Nintendo is a trusted brand that gamers and families all connect with as well so I believe they should go into a market that Nintendo have a Monopoly in right now.
